Thankful Thursday - Kindness

"All I’m saying is that kindness don’t have no boundaries.” Karen Stockett.

It's that time again - the season of love, and kindness.
December - the time when hope is promoted and people everywhere reach out to help those in their communities who are struggling or are alone.

The whole month, efforts are given to build toy mountain, fill food bank shelves, donate time and energy. Community meals are prepared, gifts are wrapped for nameless people with ages not names earmarked. People are excited. They want to give. They want to show kindness and hope and love. And something I've noticed, around this time of year, people are happier, friendlier, more loving.

And me too, I'm love jumping into the spirit, doing my part, getting involved. I love giving back because so much has been given to me. There's no shortage of hurting people in need.

The thing is though, there are many people who don't outwardly show their loneliness or sadness or pain. They carry it alone, holding it to themselves, not wanting anyone to see what's really going on in their heart.

It's easy to see the homeless, or the single mom struggling on welfare, or refugees who are starting again from scratch. But what about the people who present well, who look like they have it altogether, yet they carry inside them a sadness, a loneliness, and fears for their future.  For that reason, I want to smile, and be kind to everyone I meet. Life can hurt and no one really knows what someone else is going through. Kindness don't have no boundaries!

Happy Thursday, Guys.

The holidays can be so hard on many people. I have close family who are struggling because of relationships broken. My prayer is for reconciliation to those suffering broken relationships and comfort for those left alone for whatever reason.

ןt's beautiful to see people engaged in giving to others, volunteering for others. Kindness is not an empty word on this 'lonely planet'. There are some kind people out there ready to give a warm shoulder to people in need. We should appreciate them and their benevolent actions.

Yes, Nikki... kindness is needed ... many people really do have a hard time this time of the year and just put on a face... I think we all need to try to remember that more often... it's easy to rush through the day and not notice each other... you always have such great messages xox

Great words here, especially so at this time of year.
Kindness, a gentle word or smile ... it really can make a difference.

We can all do our bit, can't we!

All the best Jan

Great post, Nikki! Everyone struggles with something, and kindness is never a waste of time. The more kindness we share, the better off we all will be.
